The Locals

Hope Inn Redding’s grounds are often visited by local wildlife, including deer and various bird species. These natural “residents” provide guests with a closer connection to Northern California’s wildlife and natural beauty.

Kirk and Denise Schauer, passionate hosts of Hope Inn Redding, bring a unique blend of hospitality and global experience to the property. Having spent years working in Zambia on water access initiatives, they co-founded a nonprofit focused on providing clean water to African communities. Their extensive work abroad inspired them to design Hope Inn as a welcoming sanctuary, drawing from their experiences of service and community building to create an inn that feels like home.
